Kilalinda

Tsavo East National Park, Kenya - Classic 4

Looking out over the Yatta Plateau, with views to the south, on a clear day, of the snow capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, Kilalinda lies on the border of Tsavo East National Park. The Lodge is surrounded by beautiful, verdant gardens that contrast with the stunning yet arid landscape of Tsavo, one of the ancient wildernesses of Africa.

Hidden among the acacias on the bank of the Athi River, Kilalinda has been built with complete peace and privacy in mind. Each of the six cottage guest rooms is uniquely and immaculately decorated, with earthen walls and olive-wood pillars, giant four-poster beds, cushion-laden sofas and homespun fabrics - all chosen for their complete harmony with the local environment. One of the cottages is much larger and has its own jacuzzi/plunge pool and small bar. Perfect for honeymooners it is also of a perfect size for private executive conferences. The main social area consists of a dining room that will seat sixteen and an open lounge bar with stunning views of the river and pool.

Kilalinda takes great pride in providing first class cuisine. Most of the fresh vegetables are grown on a nearby farm. All the bread, cakes and pastas are homemade. For incurable romantics there are delicious sunrise breakfasts and sundowners on a panoramic platform nestled high in the boughs of a giant baobab tree.
