Jaci's Safari Lodge
Madikwe Game Reserve, South Africa - Classic 4
Approximately 3.5 hours from Johannesburg and situated in an ideal spot in the Madikwe Game Reserve, Jaci's Safari Lodge overlooks an established waterhole that is well used by the diverse wild and bird life in the area. The Madikwe Game Reserve was created not only to preserve the fauna and flora of the area, but also to provide a more sustainable environment for the local people. In the largest movement of animals since Noah, 10,000 head of game comprised of 27 different species were moved into this newly created 75,000 hectare park.
Madikwe is malaria free, which makes it a very attractive safari destination. You can expect to see the Big Five African animals here, plus some other fantastic game including Cheetah, Wild Dog, Sable Antelope, Oryx, Springbok and Giraffe.
Jaci's main lodge is open plan and curved around a huge termite mound. It is decorated with Jaci's outrageous flair, incorporating color and African artifacts in a novel way. Each room has a ceramic fireplace for cozy winter evenings and an open plan en-suite bathroom. The charming bedrooms are a mixture of stone and canvas with huge tented windows and a cool thatched roof. Each en-suite bathroom contains a twosome rock bath and outdoor safari shower.
The exceptional thatch and canvas 'Nare Suite' is an exclusive bush breakaway, featuring two en-suite bedrooms, a small-equipped kitchen and living area. A wooden viewing deck encompasses a small rock pool with an outstanding view over an active game water hole.
Early morning and evening game drives or walks are the highlight of your stay at Jaci's Safari Lodge. Between times you can lounge around the pool, paddle your own canoe on the Marico River, lie in a hammock or sip ice cold drinks while watching the birds, butterflies and animals at the waterhole. This is a truly African scene and perfect for a romantic holiday or family vacation.
Personal attention to detail, luxurious accommodation and excellent service are the hallmark of Jaci's success. Children are welcome.
