Djuma Vuyatela Lodge
Sabi Sand Reserve, South Africa - Classic 4
Djuma Game Reserve is located in the game-rich Sabi Sand Reserve, alongside the Kruger National Park. Guests can expect to see the Big Five and more than 300 bird species at Djuma, which takes its name from the Shangaan word meaning "roar of the lion". There are three small camps that ensure personalised attention for all guests. Vuyatela, meaning, "come and visit again", was handcrafted by the local Shangaan people, thus creating jobs as well as a unique and beautiful lodge.
Each of the five suites at Vuyatela are designed in the traditional African kaya- style. A private lounge is separated from the bedroom by an expansive Teak deck. Glass doors open the indulgent bedroom to the view from the deck and the pristine African savannah. Four-poster king-size beds dominate the airy bedrooms, while spa baths and outdoor showers complete the ultimate indulgence. Each chalet has its own open deck where, if you’re lucky, you might catch a leopard stealing a drink of water.
