Katavi Wildlife Camp is set back amongst the trees fringing the Kitasunga Plain. As the Katuma river is positioned nearby to the camp, animals must parade past on their daily commute to drink. The small camp of just 8 tents ensures a very personalised stay, as well as there only being a handful of lodges in the park, guests will have an extremely exclusive experience. The bar lounge has perfect views out across the plain where many lion kills are witnessed as there is a resident pride of lion close by. In the dry season the water levels drop so much so that you can get a rare opportunity to view inside the crocodile caves.

Accommodation

Katavi Wildlife Camp has 6 luxury tents elevated on wooden platforms providing excellent views over the Kitasunga Plain.

2 additional suites are available which comprise of 2 tents and luxury ensuite bathrooms, on a shared wooden platform with a private plunge pool.

All tents are mosquito proof, with excellent views and solar heated running water.

Activities

Game drives are taken in open, adapted 4WD vehicles. The vehicles have tiered seating and roof shading, allowing the guests to enjoy the closeness to nature. Soft drinks are provided.

Walking safari can be arranged with TANAPA at the park headquarters.

Plenty of game can be seen from the camp. At least once a year, guests have watched a lion kill from their veranda or the bar lounge.
