Location

Palahala Luxury Camp is located in Katavi National Park in West-Tanzania in the Rukwa Region and 7* degrees south of the Equator.

Accessibility

The camp is accessible by air. We have the use of two airstrips one is only a 10 minute drive from camp and used in the dry season. The second airstrip is about an hour away. Twice weekly scheduled charters depart Arusha on Mondays and Thursdays and arrive in time for lunch. Katavi is a 3 hour flight from Arusha and only a 25 minute flight away from Lupita Island. Private charters can also be arranged.

Accommodation and facilities

Palahala luxury tented camp consists of eight large custom designed tents situated on wooden platforms with en-suite showers and flush toilets.

Old fashioned hurricane lamps on the pathways light the way each evening. Bedrooms are furnished with king-sized beds, goose down quilts and fine linens . Hand fed hot showers await your arrival each eveing. Each tent boasts a spacious verandah with comfortable armchairs overlooking the African bush and the relaxing sounds of the hippos in the river below.
